Past, Present and Future in the Novel 1984 Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The novel 1984, written by George Orwell and published in 1950, describes in a fictional manner world characterized by diverse problems, a hard life, in a totalitarian political regime. Through the eyes of the main character Winston Smith, the author describes the people's poor life that they were convicted to have. They were controlled by a satanic political regime and forced to accept the doctrines of the leadership. There are similarities and differences between the world of 1984 and our current world. One similarity between the 1984 society and our current world is given by the hidden love relationships. The book presents a love connection between two people who were not allowed to be together, as well as the existence of women who would give into paid sex and encounters for money. The actual world looks for hidden relationships by going in certain places, in order to protect themselves from others. They put into use hotels, brothels, and rented apartments.
