Optimism is the ability to see the silver lining in a dark cloud and having the ability to maintain a positive attitude in a negative environment. If freshmen college students learned optimism, then the stresses of receiving a bad grade wouldn't be devastating enough to make them want to quit school altogether. With optimism, students can have a more positive sense of life and understand stress to be only a lesson learned to help accelerate in their life. Any obstacle in life can be overcome if optimism is in the mind along with other helpful life traits. This will be an exceptional trait to acquire that can keep an attitude up.
