The Multifactorial Model shows the wide range of factors that determine our health and susceptibility to illness. The first being the Biological factor that includes family history of illness, exposure to infectious organisms, the immune system, inoculations, medication history to ethnicity. This is not a complete list of all the biological factors. I have only listed the first few and the last one. The next would be Sociocultural Factors which includes socioeconomic status, family circumstances, access to health care, prejudice and discrimination, religious beliefs, and health promotion in the workplace. Personality factors are pretty much what they sound like. Personality factors include seeking or avoiding information about health risks, self-efficacy expectations, psychological hardiness, optimism or pessimism, how one explains one's failures and health problems to oneself , a belief that one is or is not in charge of one's own health.
