In an area just recently beginning to gain attention, Dr. Mark R. Laaser provides Christian readers, and Christian counselors with a base knowledge about the topic of sexual addiction. As a recovering addict, Dr. Laaser, along with his wife Debbie, take the issue of sexual addiction into the church in an effort to reach the over 50% of Christians who are addicted to pornography or struggle with some form of sexual addiction. Beginning with a message of hope, the author clarifies his belief that a sexual addiction can be overcome, that the sin of sexual addiction can be forgiven, and that God loves the addict. His biblical reference to the Samaritan woman in John 4 sets the groundwork for the biblical context Laaser uses to explain God's concern about sexual addiction.
