All The Presidents Men Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

All the President's Men is a non-fiction book written by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, who at the time of the story were journalists for the Washington Post in their twenties. The book gives a detailed account of how the duo's intense investigating reporting untangled the web of lies and deceit of the Nixon administration and brought to light to what has become one of the biggest political ignominies in history, the Watergate Scandal. The book, written more like a mystery, although anyone who knows the basics of the scandal knows how it ends, does not rely on a particular thesis. However, the authors would argue that the Nixon administration, which portrayed to be a force of goodness, was in fact corrupt. Minus the political jargon, which at times makes it hard to understand, the book for the most part is an easy coherent read. The book details a chronological sequence of events starting with the Watergate break-in in 1972 and ending with Nixon up for review in front of the Judicial Committee in 1974, rarely straying from the time line.
