Lifespan Development, 60-70 years Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
The age range of 60 to 70 years olds is a transitional phase through mid to late adulthood. During this time, people experience many changes in their growth and development, some that you can see and some that go on inside the head. Several of these changes are gradual, while others happen rapidly. The first part of my discussion will consider one aspect of change from each of the physical, cognitive, social, and work and retirement aspects of development for people in this age group. The second will go in depth on the social issue of independence of 60 to 70 year olds and will look at the effects income, housing and transport has on ones independence and what the government is doing to help.
The degeneration of your physicality is a large part of the aging process through mid-late adulthood. The loss of your senses, for example vision and hearing is an obvious sign of aging. Usually in your early 60's, blood supply to the eye diminishes, this usually makes ones visual field decrease, while increases ones blind spot.
