In the world, some people are American Adventure Heroes, while others are Medieval Chivalric Heroes. An American Adventure Hero is disconnected from society, lives in the wilderness, and acts on practicality. A Medieval Chivalric hero is noble, loyal, brave, and does not know what to expect while in the wilderness. Specifically, in James Fenimore Cooper's novel The Last of the Mohicans, Natty Bumppo, the American Adventure Hero, and Major Duncan Heyward, the Medieval Chivalric Hero, work together to save Alice and Cora Munro and to escape the Hurons. However, Natty Bumppo, also known as Hawkeye, lived in the wilderness for many years, so he knows what to expect through his experience. On the other hand, Heyward was part of society in America, so he does not know what to do when an unexpected situation comes along in the wild. Also, Heyward acts nobly, even though the act might endanger his life. In contrast, Hawkeye acts on his common sense. The continent back then was mostly wilderness due to lack of English expansion. Therefore, Hawkeye is better suited to this continent than Heywa......
