Life of King Tut Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In the 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt there was a king named Akhenaton. He was married to a woman named Nefertiti who produced six daughters. When they became older they needed an heir to the throne and they did not have a boy. So King Akhenaton went to a lesser wife, named Kyia, and they had conceived a boy named Tutankhamen. He spent most of his life as a non-king studying reading and writing. He and his wife changed their name to return the favor of ousting the Aten power base. As a pharaoh he restored the temples of Amun. He married a woman named Ankhesenpaaten, but when he changed his name she changed hers to Ankhesenamun. They did not have any children. So when the king died there was no one to take the throne. So she delivered a message to a neighboring kingdom that she needed someone to be king. The cause of the Boy Kings death was at one-time thought to be blunt force head trauma, but recent studies show that he may have died from malaria and a case of bone disease.
