Think about being in Wal-mart in the checkout line looking at magazines. Think about how often African American models or minority models are showcase on the cover of magazines. Well, if you see what I see, the answer is not often. When I was about seven years old I always wanted to be a model. When I used to tell my mother I wanted to appear on the cover of someone's magazine, she used to always tell me that there was a very low chance. This is the issue that David Carr discusses in his Article, "On Covers of Many Magazines, a Full Racial Palette Is Still Rare." From his point of view in the essay he argues that blacks and minorities are not represented enough on the covers of magazines. He supports his argument with credible material such as numbers from statistics showing the percentage of blacks showcased on the covers of magazines.
