Externalities - Port of Tallinn in Baltic Sea Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The purpose of this work is to analyse how different parties are affected in the given case study. Besides that, list all positive and negative externalities and what is their influence on the third parties. In particular, the port of Tallinn is one of the biggest ports in Baltic Sea and currently has the 15% decrease in its profitability. Since the spring of 2009 Port of Tallinn is no longer listed on the Tallinn Stock Exchange (portoftallinn.ee). Since the Port of Tallinn has started to promote and operate cruise ships into Tallinn some of the intermediate parties were affected both positively and negatively. Positive Externalities (1) Taxi companies were affected positively in a way that many people started to use taxi service more often to access to The Port of Tallinn and the city because of transportation. The merit to use taxi is that there are only a few passengers going to the same place, so it stops only at destination. It is definitely attractive to those who have no time to waste by taking a roundabout way by bus. There seems to be no other way to get there fast......
