For your entire life you are enveloped by advertisements. Telling you exactly what you want, how to live and how to be. Advertisements act almost as a social rulebook telling us what we can and should do in our lives. They can also represent a time-line of our culture. We can look at advertisements through just the past few decades and see how people's attitudes, and even morals, have changed through just the past fifty years, as seen in the simple headshot of a woman holding a beverage. This advertisement shows that women were not objectified in the same way as they are today. In the next advertisement of a "modern" woman holding a beverage, where she is wearing a two sizes too small bikini top, and even the image of her face is unnecessary because no one would be looking at it anyways. So one can definitely see the dramatic change of how women are looked at it from then to now. Then, society still cared if the model was attractive, but in a much more conservative way. Now, society just relies on sex to sell.
