In the article of "The Case of the Disappearing Cook", Mark Sufrin explains theories and factors related to Mary Mallon also known as "Typhoid Mary," who was a carrier of the communicable disease typhoid fever. After being the prime suspect as the person spreading the disease, Sufrin sympathizes with Mary who was convinced that the law was out to get her and was wrongfully mistreating her.
