Everyday we go to different places like work, school, and stores where people have customs that are different than our own. We have learned to accept people's customs that aren't ours because in America there are so many different kinds of people. Sometimes we look down on a certain people or group saying that they are doing something wrong or what they are practicing isn't right. When studying other cultures around the world it is very important to train yourself to not have this thought. The idea of ethnocentrism occurs around a lot of people in pluralistic countries where all different kinds of ethnic, religious, or cultural groups live near each other.
