During our learning team discussions we review several populations such as children, youth, developmentally disabled, clients with special needs, clients who suffered from domestic violence and abuse and the military population. The population I chose to review is the military population. Military population includes military service members (active, reserve, retired), family members, and veterans. I have selected this population because I can relate to it from my past military service; and would like to help those who serve our country. My interest for this population began after I was honorably discharged from the military and became a military spouse. During and after my service I noticed that almost everyone I knew was dealing with issues that they could have reached out for help but they did not because of embarrassment or lack of knowledge. Some of the issues that I noticed were family issues, financial problems, post traumatic stress disorder, lack of employment, homelessness, substance abuse and domestic violence.
