Social thinkers of the late 19th century thought that religion would fall under the "secularization thesis" which means a drastic decline in religion. In the early 20th century they saw there wasn't much of a decline but more of a change in religion. Religion can be easily started with only three people and later grows, so with that said religion will never fade away. People usually turn to religion for guidance; we don't usually follow our own instincts so an alternative is to follow religion. Religion gives us a way to live by, a set of examples and guidelines. Religion contains our own personal set of preselected regulations and a belief structure. It also gives us the reassurance that we will never cease to exist. Many peoples biggest fear is death so religion offers an alternative in the form of an afterlife. Its hope and where would we be without hope? It's practically impossible for secularization to do away with religious activity. Within each religion hope is giving in some kind of way whether if the person is the "chosen one" or just simply a helper. H......
