Financial Illiteracy seems to be a growing problem among people in the United States. Many young couples or college graduates going out into the world on their own often need assistance in understanding just what the numbers & figures mean on the bills they receive. Just as many adults shy away from attempting to understand the stock dmarket. This is probably because Americans simply don't know enough about finances as they should. Who's to blame? Some may say American High Schools.
Our country's High Schools should all have the goal of teaching the fundamentals to it's students. Everyday basic functions such as solving a math problem or writing about an opinion are necessary skills, each learned essentially in High School. Graduates entering the workforce need to know these things simply to get by in the 'real' world. But there may be something else they need to know that school didn't quite touch on.
