Life and Impact of Carl Rogers Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

On January 8, 1902, Carl Ransom Rogers was born in Oak Park, Illinois. Rogers was born to Walter and Julia Cushing Rogers as the fourth of six children. Early on, Rogers became closer to his mother since his father, as a civil engineer, was gone often working on projects, (Feist & Feist, 2009). His father received his engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin and his mother attended the school as well, although she didn't complete her degree due to bearing and rearing children, ("Distinguished Professional," 1973). At the early age of preschool, Rogers became interested in the Bible and Christianity due to his parents being devoutly religious. Even though religion didn't fully stick to Rogers later in life, he did gain the value of hard work through the impressions made by his parents, (Feist & Feist, 2009). Collegiate Success Rogers joined the University of Wisconsin following his fathers' footsteps. Initially, Rogers wanted to become a farmer and pursued an agricultural degree.
