I remember the day, it was Wednesday January 09, 2008 and I was heading to the Fertility specialists office to find out why I had been having recurrent miscarriages. As I made my way into the office I can remember the feeling of being afraid that something was terribly wrong with me and that I would be told I would not be able to have any more children.
Two months prior to this doctor's visit I had experienced my fourth miscarriage in one year's time. Even though the visit to the emergency room was exceptionally pleasant, there are no words to describe the feelings of that loss. Although I was still only in my first trimester at eight weeks, the feelings you experience after an early pregnancy loss are often more intense than most people, including myself, might expect.
