Would you ever think the hardest thing for an eleven year sixth grader to say would be "Me I want a hula-hoop"? Well it was for me. This was the moment that I discovered that my musical ability had a flaw, I was a perfectionist. That's the biggest problem for a many of singers, and sadly the sick disease attacked me.
From a young age I pictured myself singing somewhere. Watching Showtime at the Apollo, with my family, I imagined I would be one of those kids singing one of Whitney Houston songs and blowing the crowd away. That was my dream, did I ever achieve it, no but that was okay. I got many times to blow people away with my voice, well not people but classmates in elementary school. Singing for my fifth grade graduation was one of my best moments.
Since I knew I was an amazing singer first thing I did in sixth grade was join choir. Hearing all those voice must have took a toll on my self-esteem because the Alicia in elementary was now afraid of the mature voices of the eight graders.
