Criminal Justice Theory - Biological Theory Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
The biological Theory is a perspective on criminological thought that holds that criminal behavior has a physiological basis, meaning that this theory believes that crime is committed based on inheritance and learning from parents or other guardians. So the real question becomes can criminal traits be passed on to offspring? Since children learn from their parents and other guardians they could interpret parents criminal activity as being ethically and morally right, therefore making them more likely to go out and commit the same crimes their parents do. I believe that it would be easy to prove this theory is correct since children learn based on observing their parents and what they are taught from them. If they see their guardians walking into stores and stealing merchandise and never getting caught or punished they will be more likely to walk in and commit the crime to because in their eyes they believe that it is right since they have never been told that it is wrong to steal.
