There are some people who are willing pay $200 for a pair of designer jeans. This is a perfect example of the law of demand, which states that as the price of a product increases, the quantity demanded of that same product will decrease, ceteris paribus, or 'all else held equal.' This article states that denim, a rather cheap fabric, normally makes for cheap blue jeans, but if the fabric is abused in some way, then the price goes through the roof.
