Lee's account of moving house is essentially a story of the perception of a young child, seeing and feeling both the excitement and novelty of the arrival and the subsequent longing for order. Lee explores these experiences through a range of effective techniques - imagery including simile and metaphor, evocative and sensuous language - in order to complete the writer's ideas and elucidate his sense of changing perspective.
