Evolution of Elizabeth and Darcy in Pride and Prejudice Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen mainly revolves around Elizabeth Bennet and her relationship with Mr. Darcy. At the beginning, Elizabeth hates Darcy and thinks he is proud. However, through the course of the novel she overcomes her prejudice ends up falling in love with him. Additionally, Darcy is too proud and looks over Elizabeth when he sees her but overcomes his pride and falls in love with her. In Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth overcomes her prejudice and Darcy overcomes his pride. When Elizabeth and Darcy first meet, they don't get along at all. When Darcy first sees Elizabeth, his pride takes over him and he doesn't pay any attention is Elizabeth. "She is tolerable; but not handsome enough to tempt me." "Everybody is disgusted by his pride" and he is lowly regarded by everyone else who attended the ball. From the moment she met him, Elizabeth finds several more reasons to dislike him. Such reasons include her believing that Darcy treated Wickham badly, and he told Bingley to stop his relationship with Jane. Darcy then surprises Elizabeth by proposing, ......
