Childhood of William Shakespeare Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The first question was to take a good look into our famous person's childhood. When I took a close look into Shakespeare's childhood there really wasn't much documented information for him. Starting from the beginning, William Shakespeare was born April 23rd 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon. The town is about 100 miles northwest of London. His parents John and Mary had eight children which only five survived to adulthood. William was the fourth or fifth child born and the oldest son. His mother, Mary, came from a higher rank family; they were of the landed gentry. His father, John, was a yeoman - a glover and commodities merchant. Over the years his father was able to move up the ranks of the town government to high bailiff, similar to town mayor now a days. He did this on his own and because of his position within the government he was able to put William into grammar school. Schools in those times only allowed influential families to enroll their sons. They studied basic manners and respecting your parents from about five to seven. Then at seven the more formal and rigorous education......
