Princess Bride Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

When William Goldman sat down to write this novel he had one goal in mind and that was to entertain and humor his audience. Through his impassable use of satire the audience, just like several members of our class, are tricked into believing that the tale is based off of nonfiction events. Every part of Goldman's novel is so cleverly portrayed that it's difficult to realize that it is a fiction novel. Every page and chapter in The Princess Bride has a significant meaning to the overall meaning of the text. The most obvious are the two introductions and the anecdote in the first 36 pages. Without these the reader wouldn't feel connected to the piece in the way the do with these three parts. The "Introduction to the 30th Anniversary Edition" is very confusing when read before the "Introduction to the 25th Anniversary Edition" because of how heavily it is based off of information provided in the 25th Edition. Yet the "Introduction to the 30th Anniversary Edition" is still very important. With phrases like, "It's got a long intro...where I explain.........
