To Kill a Mockingbird Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Who would have thought that a novel would be more action packed than its movie version? In the case of the American classic To Kill a Mockingbird this is exactly the situation. Due to the absence of many major plot details and key events, the result of the movie left one quite confused. The director of the movie version of To Kill a Mockingbird has eliminated the role of Aunt Alexandra, the children's conversation with Mr. Dolphus Raymond and Miss Maudie's house fire thus making the movie less enjoyable than the novel because the theme is more difficult to understand. One of the most influential messages that were communicated in the novel was left out of the movie version due to the director's decision in deleting the role of Aunt Alexandra. In the novel, Aunt Alexandra's story is a story of hope as she demonstrates that people's values can change. At the beginning of the novel she seemed to epitomize the typical white person's opinion about the black community. She believed that they were not equal as she did not support Atticus even representing Tom Robinson in a fair trial. As ......
