Each of the countries involved in the Cuban Missile Crisis had different aspirations that they wanted to achieve for the outcome of the situation. The USA was seeking to remove the missiles from Cuba whilst avoiding any military conflict and therefore eliminating the threat of nuclear war. Russia, on the other hand, had a more defensive goal. This goal was to not only put themselves in a better position in the arms race between USSR and USA, but to also get the American missiles out of Turkey and show Soviet strength. Cuba was caught up in this crisis between two large threatening world powers, so its prime aspiration was to seek protection from possible invasion. Each country was able to achieve some of their goals, yet not all goals were achieved and the end result of the crisis was similar to the situation at the beginning.
