The religion had made large movements when it first began and was revolutionary in the time of the prophet Muhammad. Equality and peace is taught in the religion of Islam, but more importantly being of service to your community and society. Being of service to your community is the concept of Monotheism, which Islam is founded upon. In the modern world today, the religion has seen much corruptness and evil in it as all religions have experienced. The misuse of the Quran by terrorists has sparked controversy and confusion amongst the majority of the world that does not follow Islam or study the Quran. The misunderstanding also comes not just from the violence and terrorists, but also how the bias media projects the religion of peace as a barbaric, violent, and second-class inhumane religion after the 9/11 attacks.
