It is obviously apparent that the two stories are entirely different, but taking a step back and comparing the narratives of the stories one might find that the writing styles that shape the main characters are mockingly similar. The protagonist in Flannery O��<sup>TM</sup>Connor��<sup>TM</sup>s story is a controlling grandmother who lives with her son and grandchildren. Though their physical appearance and emotional state are diverse from one another, their personalities are very much alike.
