Crucible AP Literary Analysis Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Many stories and plays written about tragic happenings in history always establish a solid understanding of the environment's overall atmosphere. As well as it's physical setting, which attributes to give readers/spectators a clear visual interpretation of what is going on. Although such attributions have a tendency to be portrayed as somewhat sympathetic, showing the main character prevailing above all else or even "sugar coating" some events in aspects of history, in order to give the audience a sense of completion. This is usually common in pieces written in formats of plays. But there are a few plays that come to mind when thinking out-of-the-stereotypical "hero wins it all" title. Arthur Miller's, The Crucible shows one of American history's not-so-proud-of moments through his own adaption of the Salem witch trials. The key to a play, in my opinion would be four qualities: emotion, convincing characters, an intriguing plot, and also an establish-and appropriate- physical environment.
