Defining Marketing Marketing plays a huge part in the consumers everyday life and encourages economic development and growth for all. One key reason is that marketing encourages research and innovation, through the development and spread of new ideas, goods, and services (Perreault, Cannon, McCarthy, 2009). We are introduced to marketing from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed. Marketing comes in many forms, such as commercials on the television, to the billboards we pass on our way to work, there are the ads on the Internet and the list goes on.
