My world has come shattering down before me during this class. The unnerving behaviors that people have towards others make me want to live in another time. I lived in a sheltered community that did not allow me to observe all the different cultures and races in the world. The books The Woman Warrior, Color Complex, When I Was Puerto Rican, and Always Running were mind numbing for me. Each book struck a nerve inside of me that made me rethink all that was taught to me throughout my life. Everyone can relate to these books in some way, shape or form because of the struggles and dreams of these people. These are their stories and my thoughts.
These four books all contain true experiences. The key word is experiences. Each author told a part of their life to share with others in hopes to regain hope and self-belief.
