A Doll House Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The setting of Endgame is set on a plain interior with gray lighting. The story has 2 main characters Hamm and Clov. It’s obvious that they know that death is evident, and it almost seems like they desire death. Foreshadowing of events to come, light represents life and heaven. Gray represents the darkness and hell. Hamm is like the king in the story, he bosses everyone around, but at the same time he is the most vulnerable to attack. I will now explain the major characters and the themes, motifs, and symbols found throughout Endgame. It’s a struggle between Hamm and Clov. Hamm controls everyone in the play while having no control over him or environment. He bosses Clov around to no end and silences his parents Nagg and Nell, whenever they talk too much or say the wrong things in lecturing him. He lives in misery and a gray cloud is over him. He is the king in chess; he is the most powerful piece whom all others serve. He is the most vulnerable to attack and the most powerless. Hamm is afraid of a rat and flea, so he tells Clov to kill them and go south and kill other mamm......
