Ender's Game Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Miss Julie. Miss Julie is the play’s main character. She is twenty- five years old and fresh from a broken engagement. An engagement she ruined because of her attempt to train her fiancé as a dog. Miss Julie becomes “wild” making sexual advances towards her valet, Jean, on a Midsummer Eve. She was raised by a mother who hated men because she was forced in to marrying the Count. Julie is disgusted by and drawn to men, horrified by sex and ready to play her role as lover. Julie submits to Jean, he acts as a father figure, and she is asking to be abused and to be saved by him. It can be said that Miss Julie desires her own fall. Jean is the play’s second main character. He is the thirty year old valet and Miss Julie’s lover on a Midsummer’s Eve. He grew up working and although Miss Julie does not know it he has known her since she was a child. Later he plays the role of a nice charming man and seduces Julie, hesitating before making advances. Upon, their romance, Jean finds out that Miss Julie is broke; he rejects her and confesses his deception ......
