The bill of Rights Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

During the birth of this great nation, our founding fathers set forth in motion the Constitution of the United States of America. This document is the basis of freedom, for which this country is founded upon. The original Constitution consisted of seven Articles, mostly providing for the organization and working of our national government. However, Soon after the original Constitution was adopted, our fore fathers created the first ten amendments. These amendments, known as The Bill of Rights, were added to prohibit the national government from taking away or limiting various rights and freedoms of the citizens. However, with these rights come certain responsibilities. The First amendment of the Bill of Rights deals with the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition of the government to address grievances. As we look at these rights, there must be an understanding that, as citizens, we must be responsible in ensuring that we allow others to speak freely, that we are tolerant of others religious preference and that we respect others rights to assemble, ......
