College life offers distractions around every corner. Most people can tune the distractions out to focus on the requirements of classes and degrees. However, there is a population of students who feel that their efforts alone are not enough to meet the standards of academic success. Illegally taking the medication of those who have Attention Deficit Disorder (A.D.D.) has become a recent trend among many college students to remedy the situation. The students use the prescribed drugs as a means to gain the maximum potential of productivity. During my interview with a group of students who regularly partake in the behavior, there was one constant in all of their testimonies. All of them reported that the drug gave the user a sense of tunnel vision toward their work. It gave them a dramatic boost in their energy and focus to think that they can accomplish whatever their task is before them. It acts as a temporary increase in the confidence of ones abilities.
