If the global marketplace is to function within acceptable parameters, it is essential to gain understanding of some of the critical issues that must be addressed. Such critical issues involve the Loss of Manufacturing Jobs, Increased Environmental Abuses, Excessive Volatility of World Currencies, Loss of Intellectual Property Rights, National Sovereignty, International Trade Agreements, and Child Labor Abuses. Among these matters, Child Labor Abuses is an extremely contentious issue, which caught my attention and concern; therefore I have chosen it as my topic of discussion. Child labor can be seen from both perspectives, as attribute, or an abuse.
It is estimated that over 250 million working children in our global economy today (Connell). Child labor is happening all over the world, but predominantly in developing countries, such as Africa and Asia, which account for over 90 percent. India is the largest child workforce in the world, having over 44 million child laborer......
