The Optimum Balance: Jefferson, Lao-Tzu and Machiavelli Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Jefferson, Lao-Tzu, and Machiavelli each have different ideas on how state and government should be run. Each came from a culturally diverse background, from New World America to Old World Italy, and Ancient China. They each had different attitudes on what is more important, the individual to the state or the individual to the government. The optimum balance of the three radical views is Thomas Jeffersons views in accordance with the Declaration of Independence, which combines the structure and fairness of Machiavelli and the freedom of Lao-Tzu.
Someone may disagree with Thomas Jeffersons philosophical point of view on how government should be run. This person may be a radical Republican, and a very liberal Democrat. He might feel that a government would be better run under one authority, one king and one voice. He may also feel that being controlling and monarchy is not the way to run a country, and that using a hands off method is best.
