Mass Commuincation Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
For our year 12 English studies this semester we are studying Mass media communication. We are required to choose a current event making headlines around the country and study the format of the articles. It was essential that we chose the article from two different types of communications such as Newspapers, magazines, the Internet, television or political cartoons.
The first source of communication chosen was a newspaper article taken from the front page of The Advertiser dated 3rd of February 2005. The second example of communication was an article taken from the website www.ninemsn.com.au (National Nine News). The articles are about a plane crash that tragically took the lives of South Australian residents Bernie Lewis and wife Christine.
Although the two forms of communication I have chosen are both written, they are very different in terms of structure. The first article is a newspaper article with a headline of Holiday Tragedy in large bold font. It also has a by-line which states it is written by Nigel Hunt and Craig Bildstien.
