Alfred Adler was an Austrian psychiatrist who produced some of the most successful and widely accepting theories on human behaviour and motivation. Adler founded a school of thought called Individual Psychology, which included many theories such as The Strive for Perfection, The Inferiority Theory, and Inferiority Complex. At a time of heavy Freudian Theories, Alfred Adler broke off from these and opposed many of Freuds theories such as the importance of the conscious mind, different therapy methods, the aggressive instinct and Freuds reductionism personality theory. Throughout Adlers studies, he always noted a heavy importance on social interest and relationships; in fact it became of his leading concepts throughout his theories. Alfred Adler was a holistic thinker who rose above the rest with his realistic, acceptable explanation of human behaviour and motivation.
