Organizational Behavior As Depicted in 12 Angry Men Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
1. The groups mission and vision change from the beginning of the film to the end. At the beginning, their mission is to pronounce the defendant guilty and send him to death row. Their vision is to get out of that jury room and go home as soon as possible. During the course of the movie, the mission changes to determining whether the defendant is truly guilty or not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Their vision, in the end, is to have arrived at a fair verdict and go home to their families.
2. The culture of this group can be described as high energy, in that each juror has a strong feeling about the case and is not hesitant to put a lot of energy and emotion into conveying those feelings. Its empowered in the sense that the life of a young man is in their hands. They have the power to determine whether this man lives or dies. Its a talk/discuss culture. Although the discussion becomes heated at times and everyone seems to be talking at once at certain points in the movie, each juror is able to take a turn in conveying their ideas about the case and allowing everyone ......
