Exhausted from school, sleeping on a church pew the night before, getting homesick, and the eight hour drive to Adrian, Michigan was all leading up to a week in my life I would never forget as long as I live. As I stepped foot on the college campus with my friends at my side, with no shower in two days and exhausted we faced our home for the next week. No air condition, television, radio, cd players, cell phones, was a sacrifice we challenged ourselves with. Walking up the twelve flights of stairs to my dorm room with three bags on one shoulder two on the other a box fan in one hand and a suitcase in the other, I passed many girls that I would be living with for the week. Fear overwhelmed me, as a young self-conscious girl, extremely shy, I was horrified of what these girls passing me would think of me.
