In most books, fairy tales, plays, and movies, there are usually two opposite characters. They are usually divided by the good guy and the bad guy. Of course, if one goes by the theory that good prevails then in William Shakespeares Hamlet, Hamlet, a young man that wanted revenge for the death of his father King Hamlet, is considered good and Claudius, Claudius has killed his brother t gain the throne and has married his brothers wife, Gertrude(Shakespeares Characters for Students, pg 88-89), is bad. Sexuality, deception, and death will be the personality traits and motives examined in each man. The finale outcome would be the two of them fight to the death at the end, neither man better then the other, neither more deserving of glory. In the end both men die, and death becomes the greater equalizer. Sexuality plays a role in the play in both characters, Hamlet and Claudius, when it comes to Gertrude, the Queen.
