In the first two pages of this book, for some reason they started off by talking about how a badger, Orlando the Axe, was following “the fox”. After every detailed paragraph about how the badger was going over hills, crossing rivers, and things like that, it would say Orlando the Axe was following the fox. This kind of confused me for a while, but later in the book I found out what it was talking about. In the first three chapters the author introduced all of the characters, such as Mattimeo, Matthias (the protector of Redwall), Cornflower, John Churchmouse, and many others. This is where the story actually begins. The young mouse Mattimeo was caught fighting with a newcomer to Redwall named Vitch. Mattimeo got in a lot of trouble and decided he would try never to disobey his parents. During the feast they have every year when summer comes, a fox named Slagar, the main bad guy, and his gang tricked the rodents of Redwall to let them in by acting like poor, starving entertainers. The fox wanted revenge on Matthias for something he apparently did in the past. So he decided the best......
