A great deal is known about what is required to be a successful entrepreneur. An overriding factor found in most successful entrepreneur is a tremendous need to achieve. Attitude seems to have everything to do with success in business, while factors such as intelligence, education, and personality are less significant.
Throughout this paper I will discuss some of the characteristics and challenges of entrepreneurs and talk about a couple of entrepreneurs who have done well for themselves in his or her own business.
Researchers and experts suggest that entrepreneurs share a number of common characteristics. They have found that, on the whole, the entrepreneur:
Likes to compete
Is a self- starter
Is able to determine risk and has the courage to take risks but is not a gambler
Likes a challenge
Is creative, and has dreams and goals
Is not easily discouraged
Has a strong sense of self worth
Focuses his/her attention on the chance of success then ......
