sonnet 131` Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Real Beauty Have you ever seen something so beautiful in another person that only you saw. Your friends thought that you were crazy, but you did not care what they think. You know deep down inside what you see in that person is real and is worth more than all the physical attributes of someone who is considered beautiful. (2) Shakespeare express this love of real beauty in sonnet 131. Shakespeare shows that true beauty lies within the eye of the beholder by expressing how one sees what lies beneath the skin and truly and sincerely loves someone no matter what others may say or do. This sonnet is composed like all the other Shakespearean sonnets. The sonnet has fourteen lines. It is composed of three quatrains and a heroic couplet. It has an alternating rhyme scheme and is set in iambic pentameter. The first quatrain poses a problem that the dark lady is seen as an evil woman. The second quatrain amplifies that problem and the couplet solves the problem.
