Romeo and Juliet In Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet, two young lovers make horrible mistakes that eventually bring them to their tragic end. Juliet- the younger, but smarter of the two young lover’s, carries most of the blame for the misfortune of the two. Although she is young and reckless, Juliet is very aware of the potential consequences of her actions and does not pay any attention to the fact that she knows what she is doing is wrong. She is a spoiled young girl who is bored with her life at the Capulet home and is seeking excitement and entertainment- both things that she finds in Romeo and his romantic antics. Juliet is unsatisfied with her home life and her parents, and is looking to shock her family by falling in love with a Montague. She is not looking for a husband (if she were she would’ve put more consideration and effort into Paris the first time her mother suggested him), she is not looking for love, she is looking for a break in the monotony of her life, she is merely looking for adventure.
