Arthur Miller has written the play a View from the Bridge in the form of Greek tragedy. In this sense it is the tragedy of one man, Eddie because he loses his life. However all of the characters in the play are affected. So it is about more that the life of one man.
The play is used to tell the story of one man. This ones name was Eddie Carbone. This is spoken by the chorus Alfieri. Aliferi is used to show the life of Eddie. He replays the action and then comments on it to the audience. The audience feels that they can trust him because he is a lawyer. The quote shows that Alferi is looking back on pasted events was. It puts across the idea that the play is going to tell you of the life of one man Eddie Carbone. Was also suggests that he is either dead or missing.
