Text and Context Gattaga and Metropolis, both Sci-fis depict various different and similar values throughout the viewings which explores the changes in context. Each film reveals social, historical and political context and values has differentiated between the texts. The original Metropolis by Fritz Lang was filmed in Germany during 1926; most values presented are different from the values shown in Gattaga, a film which was produced in 1997 by Andre Niccole. But even after the 70 year difference, various values are similar within a certain perspective. The value of Christianity is still seen as an important influence towards how the society is operated and the decision makings. The left and right wings values are also shown in both films; the left represents the progressive and the right represents the conservative. Clichéd expressions are repetitively used within Gattaga and especially Metropolis; this technique to an extent causes a sense of ambiguity.
