Multiple paths to the Divine Hinduism is a unique religion. Although unique, it is very complex. To some individuals it is a religion, to some it is a way of life, yet for many there is no distinction between the two. Hinduism's anthropology, soteriology, and eschatology are distinct from those of christianity, or any other religion. Hinduism is unique because it originated in no certain time period and was not created by any certain prophet. The faith is based upon a way of living rather than on a way of thought. The former president of India, Radhakrishnan, once remarked, "Hinduism is more a culture than a creed" (Eerdman, 170). Radhakrishnan said that is because it describes the Hindu way of thinking. Hindu's devote the idea of their multiple lives to Hinduism, to strive to be more like their ultimate: Brahman. One author writes, "Brahman is neutral and impersonal--the origin, the cause and the basis of all existence" (Eerdman, 185).
